Make it stand out

OgilvyOne wanted to highlight one of the many facets that made David Ogilvy the advertising genius he was: his salesmanship.

To do that, we put a call out to the digital world. Pitch us a red brick. If you can sell something as simple as a brick, you’d win a big ol cash prize, and a temporary position at Ogilvy. We made a bunch of fun videos demonstrating sales techniques (that we non-salespeople created), and a website asking for submissions. While I wrote and worked on many of the videos, the one above was all mine, and featured actors from The Sopranos, and now Oppenheimer! This was one of my first productions where I was fully behind the camera, and let me tell you, it was a blast to work on.
